Before I get started with the actual review of these headphones, let’s get a few important things out of the way. First, these aren’t the bargain basement headphones that you might buy for your 7 year old to watch iCarley in the car with. These are higher end, wireless headphones, so you’re defiantly going to pay a little more for them. While not the most expensive options on the market, they are certainly designed to be higher end, and it is with this expectation that I am writing the review. (Hint, I’m not disappointed)
The JayBirdBlueBuds X are a great option for anyone who is looking for wireless headphones. As the name implies, these headphones connect to your phone, iPod or other device through a Bluetooth connection, which makes it very quick and easy. The biggest concern with any wireless headphones is whether or not they will have the power to give you the sound you are looking for.
Fortunately, his model really over delivers when it comes to sound quality. You’ll get deep bases, clear treble and crisp midrange. Whether you’re working out to hip-hop or relaxing to classical music, you’ll absolutely love the way everything sounds. Next, area of concern, the battery life. You’ll get an impressive 8 hours of use between charges. For most active people, this means an entire week’s worth of workouts without ever having to recharge. Certainly nothing to complain about.
This is, in my opinion, one of the best parts of the headphones. Obviously they are wireless, so you don’t have to worry about pulling them out or even damaging your music device while working out. This particular model has found a way to have the earbuds placed securely into your ear, without any discomfort. The connecting cord is placed behind your head, which is really nice.
The one problem I ran into was if you’re wearing a headband or a hat while working out, you may accidentally pull the headphones up and off while making adjustments. The easiest solution is to just not wear these items, but I also found that after a few workouts I got used to it and really don’t run into this problem any longer.
What are Others Saying?
Sure, I love these headphones, but don’t just take my word for it. I’ve done quite a bit of research on them while deciding whether or not to purchase, so let me give you some of the main pros & cons that other people have listed after buying and using them.
- Exceptional Sound
- Easy Charging – Charging is done through a USB connection right on the headphones. The indicator light turns red while charging, and green when fully charged.
- Possible Durability Issues – Some users have found that the headphones stop working after a couple months of use. The thing all these users seemed to have in common is excessive sweating. The manufacturer does guarantee them against sweat, however, so if they break you will get a replacement for free.
- Beeps with Volume Change – While minor, many people find it annoying that whenever you adjust the volume, the headphones play a small beep.
- Bluetooth Connecting – A few users seemed to have issues connecting to their Bluetooth enabled device. In all likelihood, this was user error, but I can’t say with certainty so I’m including it here.
Overall, these are high quality headphones that most people will be happy with. Even the few people who did have issues were quick to note that the overall quality was very high.
I hope you enjoy this Jaybird Bluebuds X Sport Bluetooth Headphones Review.
