Bose Quietcomfort 25 vs 15

The Bose Quiet Comfort series of headphones are among the highest quality on the market today. The two main options are the Bose Quiet Comfort 25 and the Bose Quiet Comfort 15, both of which offer exceptional quality. Putting two high quality headsets up against each other like this can be difficult, but it is also very important when trying to make sure you get the right headphones for your specific needs.

Both options have overwhelmingly positive reviews from people who use them, so let’s take a look at both options and see which one will be the best for you.

Bose Quiet Comfort 15

The Bose Quiet Comfort 15 headphones really pushed consumer noise canceling headphones ahead significantly with many innovations over previous models. The sound was exceptional at all levels and with all music types, which is one of the reasons why they were so popular. Compared to most other headsets on the market today, the Bose Quiet Comfort 15 still outperforms them in almost every way despite the fact that they are no longer being manufactured.

This particular model is being phased out by Bose, but you can still find them at many retailers and will likely be able to for quite some time. For many customers, the fact that they are an ‘older’ model will actually be a good thing since you may be able to find them at a much better price than would otherwise be possible.

Bose Quiet Comfort 25

The Bose Quiet Comfort 25 model was released as the newer and better version of the 15, and in most ways that is true. According to the tech specs and many user reviews, this upgraded version will block out slightly more outside sound than the 15’s. In addition, this model is slightly smaller and lighter, and the carrying case is quite a bit easier to use, which is very nice.

When it comes to actual sound quality, there is something of a mixed review here. The overall quality is indeed a little better but they did away with the Hi/Low switch that was available on the 15’s. This has resulted in a little less control (during normal use) on the 25’s. Most people won’t really mind this, but if you listen to specific types of music you may miss that feature. If you have the QC25’s plugged into the airplane adapter you will have the option to switch from hi to low.

Overall Evaluation – Bose Quietcomfort 25 vs 15

First of all, let me be perfectly clear. Both of these sets of headphones are exceptional and anyone should be happy to own them. If I had to recommend one over the other, I’d say go with the Quiet Comfort 25’s because of the little tweaks and upgrades that are found throughout the design. None of them alone would make the difference, but when taken as a whole it is a better overall unit. If, however, you are looking to save money, the 15’s will certainly satisfy even the pickiest of music lovers.
